smashbox kits

I was recently flipping through the latest Ulta ad that came in the mail and stopped at the Smashbox ad. They have a kit exclusive to Ulta, called Double Take Color Kit .

The next day, I was at my dear friend, Jennifer's house, flipping through her latest catalog from Nordstrom and came across another kit from Smashbox, this time it's a Nordstrom's exclusive, called Smashbox Glambox Vol. 2: The Supernaturals.

What's the difference, you ask. Well, here you go...

The kit from Ulta includes a travel size Photo Finish Primer, DoubleTake Fusion Eye & Cheek Palette, Cream Eye Liner Duo (Espresso/ Deep Plum), Double Ended Lip Gloss (Fresh/ Fabulous), Double Ended Cream Eye Liner Brush #9 & Smudger Brush #20, and a Get The Look Book. Which all comes to to be worth $137. And in addition to all of this, you can receive a free Mini Eye Shadow Trio (Multiflash) with any $25 Smashbox purchase. This kit is $47.

The Supernatural kit at Nordstrom's includes a travel size Photo Finish Foundation Primer SPF 15, Eye Shadow Quad in Supernatural, Fusion Soft Lights Palette in Natural Glow, Half Moon Brush, Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in Bronze, Arced Liner Brush #21, Lip Enhancing Gloss (True Color) in Bare and Lip Enhancing Gloss (Full Color) in Aura and is set at an $184 value. And this one retails for $68.

If you add up the number of products in each kit, they both have 8 items (9 from Ulta if you count the free mini eyeshadow). The Ulta kit is more compact with double ended brushes and lip gloss, as well as the eye palette and cheek palette in the same compact. The Nordstrom kit, on the other hand, is supposed to give you a "supernatural" glow. Either way, both kits are a great deal and a cheaper way to try out a new brand.
