real life gift guide...bookish gift ideas for a budding fashionista

101 Glam Girl Ways to an Ultra Chic Lifestyle ($15

Written by Dawn Del Russo, an accomplished fashion stylist and owner of, it's packed with realistic and practical tips as well as adorable colorful illustrations.

Told through tips numbered 1 to 101, Russo delivers quick pointers, touching on beauty and fashion as she goes.

One tip I love is Tip #6, Flaunt a Pair of Big Bold Sunglasses.  They do hide a myriad of flaws and the right pair can totally up your chic-factor.

A light little entertaining read, that's perfect for the little sister who's always borrowing your clothes.

Who What Wear: Celebrity and Runway Style for Real Life ($13)

If you aren't a frequent visitor to, become one now.

Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power are the geniuses behind the site and the authors behind the book.

While it definitely takes it's cues from some earlier posts that I remember, it's still a fun read and a must for anyone who is just starting to catch the fashion bug.

Plus I love the added touch of the red ribbon bookmark they's attached to the book itself.

Very chic.

Style A to Zoe: The Art of Fashion, Beauty, and Everything Glamour ($11)

If you aren't already a fan of her show on Bravo, what is stopping you?

I tune in purely for the fashion and for Zoe.

Her book is like the rest, basically the inner workings of her mind put down on paper.

Within the pages you get advice/tips on how you can pretty much style everything in your life...from your shoes to your hair and even your home.

A fab pick for the fashionista sister or bestie who already knows her Manolos from her Louboutins.

Even if she doesn't own either.

editor's note: the first book was sent to me for review by a rep from the company.  the other two were purchased by me from
