the cut i'm loving now

I have recently begun the incredibly long and painful process of growing out my hair.

This summer it was at the shortest it's been in a while at around 2 inches on top and shorter on the sides.

The result was kinda like Halle Berry's do...

Um...in case you're wondering...this is not a pic of me getting into my car.

If I was only that hot.

Anyway, you get the idea.

Now it's definitely longer and I have bangs that I can work.

Yesterday I found the one of the cutest transitional haircuts ever.

It's Jenna Elfman's new short cut and I'm loving it!

I think I can be at that length all over by April or so.

Here's another pic of another similar cut...

Although, I think this one is headed a little into the "bowl cut" territory...so I'd have to tread lightly.

My goal is to eventually have my hair at shoulder length or a bit longer.

Here's hoping.

old navy perfect v-neck tees

I love a great basic tee.

Especially if said basic is only $7.50 when you buy two or more.

I recently bought these in white, dark grey, navy, light grey, and a color they call lead pipe.

They run true to size and they hit at the hip...something I'm obsessed about because I hate shirts that ride up and don't stay put.

It's not baggy, nor too tight.

It's basically the "just right" of tees.

Excellent for layering underneath a cardigan or cute jacket.

You can also throw them in the washer and dryer and...wait for it...THEY DON'T SHRINK!!!

They truly are Perfect V-Necks.

Seriously.

clinique chubby stick

I adore these.

They somehow manage to deliver just the right amount of sheer color while providing some moisture to my pout.

A delicately tinted balm that can easily be thrown into a makeup bag and not take up much real estate.

Essential for me.

Can be found in eight shades that (at first glance) may look like they won't work, but (trust me) they will.

I honestly can't figure out which one is my fave because they all work.

One tip though...if your lips are super dry to start, do your exfoliating and then use your regular hydrating balm first.  Wait a few for it to sink in and then apply the color.

Your lips will thank you.

hello world...or at least those few who are still checking in on me...

I suck.

Really.

I know that I suck at keeping my word.

I do have some excuse for not keeping up though...besides not being able to do more than one thing at a time.

I've been concentrating on the kids (as usual), the new house (it never ends here), keeping up with the renters at our old home (we had to rush to find new ones after the previous tenants had to abruptly leave, but that's a whole other story), and I've lost over 55 pounds.

What?!

Yup, I've lost over 55 pounds since I started working at it in mid-October.

Here's a before and after:

Before Pic:
taken this summer with the kids at the zoo.

After Pic:
taken a couple of weeks ago.
proud to say I've lost about 7 lbs since then!
(sorry it's a little blurry...the husband took the shot)

It's been insane and not easy, but I shed the pounds and I'm working towards losing about 15 more.

While I did the first 55 on my own, I've decided to join Weight Watchers online to lose the rest.  I need to report to someone other than myself.  Here's hoping it'll keep me on track and focused.

We'll see how that goes.

Anyway, I hope you're well and will come back again.

While I can't promise I'll post everyday, I do promise to post more than I have.

Talk soon!

P.S.  I'd love to hear how you're all doing and what you've been up to!  Feel free to leave a comment below and let me know the deal.  Bragging is totally allowed btw!!!
